WHY NOT HAVE CARDBOARD BOXES IN CLEAN AREAS? 1. Original shipping boxes are placed on loading docks and trucks. Pests are potential issues and The Joint Commission will look and find them under the "Environment of Care"; 2. Cutting boxes to open releases carboard "dust" into the air and you don't want to do that either; 3. AORN 2009, p 660: "Outside shipping containers should not be allowed in the sterile storage area because they serve as generators of, and resevoirs for, dust." AAMI standards stae the same. Monthly Chapter Meetings Chapter meetings are scheduled on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 1:00pm to 3:30 or 4:00pm. Ten of the twelve meetings are designed to contain a formal presentation about a current topic of interest lasting one hour, a networking session for questions and discussion, business meeting, a social time that includes a lite snack, and time for celebration and announcements. Two meetings, June and December months, are luncheons designed for networking, conversation, and dining at favorite locations around the city; these luncheons do not include a formal presentation. Rules for Meeting Attendance: Guests, New Members, and Expired Memberships Guests are welcome to attend the education presentation at the monthly meetings, but are limited to 60 days without membership. The business meeting is optional for 60 days. Guests are not allowed to vote. New Members and Active Members are welcome to attend both the education presentation and the business meetings.
